Varietal authenticity
We undertake to replace any variety found to be non-compliant. However, the elements we indicate in this catalog are the result of observations, as objective as possible, carried out in our garden at Chilleurs-aux-bois. Variations may occur on these parameters (height, size or shade of flower color...). Please understand that we cannot be held responsible for such variations.
Photos and botanical information are non-contractual. Plants are living beings, not static, in a variable environment.
Rootstocks adapted to limestone soils
We supply roses grafted on R.Corymbifera Laxa, to limit the risk of chlorosis in limestone soils (see planting advice).
Best harvesting dates
We don't uproot roses before mid-October, to ensure that they have reached full maturity and are more resistant to extreme cold. This explains why we can't dispose of the entire collection of bare-root roses before the end of November.
Our cultivation
Our roses are grown with respect for nature. Although we don't have the BIO label, we use treatment products that are compatible with organic cultivation. Immune-defense activators and auxiliaries, such as ladybug or mayfly larvae, are our weapons in the fight against possible attacks by pathogens or pests such as oidium or aphids. If there are one or two aphids left on a potted rose, it's nothing, it's nature and the return of a healthier world. Our André Eve® garden is maintained according to the same principles. Most of our watering circulates in a closed circuit to avoid wastage.
Careful, traditional packaging
There are two main shipping periods: winter (bare roots and pots) and the rest of the year (pots only). The winter season is the simplest. Bare-root roses are light, take up less volume and don't suffer from shocks during transport. Wrapped in straw, in a plastic sheet inside a suitable cardboard box, they can remain in their packaging for around 10 days, stored in a cool place.
Shipment during the rest of the year is more delicate. Roses are in vegetation. The tender green shoots are fragile. Each pot weighs around 5 kg. If the transporter is a little rough, an upside-down cardboard tumble can cause damage, despite all our precautions to secure the pots in the packaging: plastic bag closed with a metal wire around the plant's neck to prevent "unstacking", strapping on cardboard blocking walls, stakes for climbers..
Planting advice
A leaflet describing the main planting, maintenance and pruning tips accompanies each shipment.
