In Granville, Normandy, not far from Mont St Michel, Christian Dior's childhood home stands on a cliff facing the Channel Islands, home to a garden where roses have always held pride of place. Jardin de Granville® embodies femininity, beauty, youth, softness and voluptuousness, with its soft pink heart hemmed in milky white, and its fine, silky, almost satiny petals. Its turbinated buds open in a cupped shape, revealing a bouquet of golden-yellow stamens that sparkle like nuggets. From spring to late autumn, the rose is covered with flowers that have never been damaged by rain. Its regular, almost perfect growth inspires harmony, roundness and tenderness. Its dark green, glossy foliage is highly resistant to disease. In our garden at Chilleurs-aux-Bois, we don't treat it, and for its use in cosmetics, we had to supply organic roses - a first! Its fragrance is just like it: delicate.
