"One of my favorite varieties" (André Eve). A highly decorative, wide-growing shrub, ideal for the center of a lawn or as a defensive hedge, as it is very thorny, almost aggressive. Disease-free, glaucous-green foliage. Double, cherry-red flowers cover its long, arching branches. Very long flowering season in June-July, followed by a few isolated blooms in autumn.
