Rome: Best Climber
A fortress in the 12th century, a château d'apparat in the 17th and a family home in the 19th, La Bussière is still a château de La Loire, as it is located in the Loiret region near Gien. The main building houses a rare collection of art objects relating to fishing and fish, together with the family furniture. It is surrounded by a vast pond, a park and a superb 18th-century kitchen garden in squares: a hectare enclosed by walls, where numerous heirloom vegetables and red berries are grown for visitors to pick. Climbing roses and shrubs are already present, but this magnificent estate, owned by the same family for 200 years, deserved to have a new rose dedicated to it and to its passionate initiator, Geneviève de Chasseval. And now it's done! From June to frost, this climber is adorned with large, very double flowers, cream delicately marked with pink, evolving to pure white when open, and pleasantly fragrant. Vigorous, it is particularly resistant to disease.
