Guillot Fils' La France rose is considered the first hybrid tea rose
How to choose between container and bare roots?
The La France rose, created in 1867 by Jean-Baptiste Guillot, known as Guillot Fils, was a veritable revolution. This bush rose is considered to mark the end of the era of old roses, as it is the first hybrid tea rose known worldwide.
It is a "head of the line" rose, which paved the way for the creation of numerous varieties of rose known to this day. Delicate, this variety is best reserved for collectors.
This bushy rose offers abundant flowering, while being very remontant: you'll enjoy its magnificent blooms from June to November.
The La France rose bears large, very double, globular flowers with a minimum of 60 petals, in a pretty, satiny light pink.
Rosa La France is widely grown in India for its exceptional fragrance, reminiscent of the Damask rose.
This bush tolerates all types of soil, including limestone. As for exposure, prefer sun or partial shade. Protect La France from strong winds.
