Frédéric Chopin
Large yellow flowers, for bouquets
Flowering, remontant, fragrant old rose
How to choose between container and bare roots?
Very close to 'Comte de Chambord'. Introduced into France around 1859, it was mistakenly marketed under the name 'Comte de Chambord'. Indeed, although the 2 roses appear identical, 'Mme Boll' seems to us to be more vigorous, more floriferous and more remontant. Our impression was confirmed in the Roseraie de Sangerhausen. One is probably a mutation of the other. Like 'Comte de Chambord', its pointed buds open into turbinate flowers that bloom into superb old roses: soft pink quarters, lighter at the edges, with a hint of lily at the heart. As floriferous as it is reflowering, and exquisitely fragrant.
