The queen of whites! Known abroad as 'Frau Karl Druski', it was long considered the most beautiful of the whites and used as a cutting flower. Many hybridizers have used it in their crossbreeding programs for its beauty, cold hardiness and vigor. Its turbinated, silk-petaled flowers, which are a little sensitive to rain, are borne on thorny stems that seem to want to protect it.
