"If you're ever near Loches (Indre-et-Loire), be sure to visit Chédigny, the first commune to be awarded the "Remarkable Garden" label. For almost 15 years, Mayor Pierre Louault and André Eve have been carrying out a major planting campaign, with breathtaking results: this is the village of roses. The "Roses de Chédigny" association does a remarkable job, organizing an annual rose festival at the end of May. Its members suggested the name Jeanne de Chédigny. The mayor's mother was recognized, along with her husband, as "Justes de France" for having sheltered Jews during the last war. Her bouquets of small, cheerful, fresh flowers in shades of soft pink and white, lightly scented, cover the foliage. Underneath its delicate appearance, it hides a proud temperament: both highly resistant to disease and very floriferous, even in autumn. Last but not least, it can be used in a variety of ways, as a climber, shrub or bush. "
