Robert Louis Stevenson® 'Evesisna

This Scottish author, born in 1850, is not only a famous writer whose works include "Treasure Island", but also a great traveler. Following a trip to France in the 1870s, during which he crossed the Lozère, he published "Voyage avec un âne dans les Cévennes" ("Journey with a donkey in the Cévennes"). This journey left a lasting impression, and the itinerary was named the "Chemin de Stevenson" and, since 1978, in an extended version (270 km), from Le Puy to Alès, has become the "chemin de grande randonnée" (GR 70). The Robert Louis Stevenson de Barbizon à Grez association, based in Seine et Marne and a member of the European network "In the footsteps of Robert Louis Stevenson", wanted a rose named after him. A very robust variety had to be chosen. Its disease-resistant qualities have made it a star in international competitions. The bush has a fairly compact habit and is adorned with large bunches of small, simple Indian-pink flowers, with beautifully undulating petals and a pleasant fragrance.
